Produced by special arrangement with
THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING CO. of Woodstock, Ill.
Note from the Director:
Hey everyone! I’m Michael King and I’m super excited to bring you deep into Sherwood Forest to join the Merry Men in yet another telling of Robin Hood! Children from our very own community have been working hard to prepare a story of action and bravery featuring all kinds of fun woodland hijinx and disguises! So put on your best forester hats and prepare to be amazed by the wonderful talent found right here in Austin by the children of Matchbox!
~Michael King
The mission of MCT is to spark imaginations by presenting professional quality children’s theatre on a consistent basis. We have been staging a variety of artistic performances in Austin since 1975. We believe our artists and performers deserve to have a platform from which they can share their creative and innovative works. This production’s profits will go towards improvements of our stage, such as curtain repairs, sound equipment and new lighting.
So thank you! You've helped us get closer to our goals today.
In merry ol’ England, the townspeople are overtaxed and overwhelmed. Luckily, the mysterious outlaw Robin Hood is giving them hope by stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. With many clever disguises, Robin continually tricks the greedy sheriff of Nottingham, his nasty daughter, Luciana, and the evil Prince John. Among the disguises is a minstrel costume to steal Prince John’s silver plates and excellent cook. Robin also dresses as an old man and enters the archery contest to win the golden arrow.
When a young girl from Nottingham joins Robin’s band of outlaws, she discovers Robin’s secret... Stay tuned to find out what it is!
