A Seussified
Christmas Carol

By Peter Bloedel

Directed by Carrie Moore

Stage Managers Troupe

Presented through special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.

www.playscripts.com

A whimsical reinvention of Dickens' most beloved Christmas story in wacky rhymed couplets. With zoot fruited juices and binka bird geese, from Bed-Headed Fred to Timmy Loo Hoo, this tale of glorious holiday cheer is similar to something Dr. Seuss might have come up with -- if he ever had his way with the story...

The mission of MCT is to spark imaginations by presenting professional quality children’s theatre on a consistent basis. We have been staging a variety of artistic performances in Austin since 1975. We believe our artists and performers deserve to have a platform from which they can share their creative and innovative works. And we thank you for joining us today for yet another creative and innovative work, all thanks to these gracious adults and talented kiddos!

Hyronomous A. Frog doesn’t quite fit in among the other frogs in the bog.  He’s incredibly large compared to the others and hates the taste of flies!  When he meets Gloria the Good Witch, he learns he must be kissed by a maiden to break the curse that turned him from a prince into a frog.  In a hysterical scene, our frog-legged friend learns how to walk like a human and sets off for Spamalot, where he finds the spoiled and petulant Princess Gladiola and her sisters. When it seems all is lost for our beloved frog, the tale brings about a ribbiting...  er, riveting...  heart-warming finale!

A bravo and job well done to all who made this show possible.
An incredible amount of thanks to all of you for coming. :)

Warmest Wishes,
Matchbox Children's Theatre
